Do You Remember This?

I’m guessing not, because the last time you would have seen it would have been June 13, and the last time it actually made any progress was sometime last February (Blog post from March 6). Yeah… it’s been a while.
Anyway, to refresh your memory, that’s the Knit Picks Palette Fair Isle Cardigan. I’m in the LAST stripe of the body. I’ve got 7 rounds to go on the body before I bind off and tackle the first steeks (the sleeves). Strangely, I’m looking forward to it. Clearly, I’m twisted. My goal is to finish this by the end of February, since I started it in February of 2007. 13 months for a sweater… that’s not too embarrassing or anything. **sigh**
This afternoon, I met my cousin and her ridiculously adorable kids at the Tyson’s Corner Mall for lunch, shopping, and Joey’s favorite part - the play area.
Beth and Anna (19 months)

When I got home, I discovered that my hubby bought himself a new toy:

Send earplugs. ;) (I’m totally kidding- he’s actually doing pretty well so far.)

First of all, I’m impressed - fair isle and steeking scare the crap out of me. Secondly, thank you.

I love that sweater. Are you taking it to knitting today? I’ll be thinking about you all, as I sit there not doing much!! And it’s our small group day that I’m missing!
We missed you the other day, by the way.
Your cousins kids are adorable.
See you soon.

Yay Palette sweater! I can’t wait to see it finished :)
And you’re right. Ridiculously adorable kids.
Tell Kris that if we can find a drummer, he can totally be in Alex’s and my band. ;)

There’s not much better than a man who plays guitar for you — unless it’s finishing a complex sweater like that. Good luck to you both!

You know, having learned to play the trumpet, the fiddle, and the guitar, I can say with confidence that the guitar is the least annoying to hear played in the early stages of the process.
If he brings a fiddle home, though, you might want to have a long talk.

That Palette sweater looks AWESOME. Colorwork is totally on my list of things to try. Someday when I get the knitting and quilting queues of things I REALLYREALLY want to do down to size …

I do remember that sweater - I’ve always wanted to see it finished too. I’m glad you’ve picked it up again.
The guitar is nice. I’m sure you botjh will enjoy it!

You’ll have to do a play-by-play of the steeks–I have yet to try it. One day I’ll be that cool. Maybe you can take it to the sea socks cruise…where people will properly appreciate the effort.
I guess Kris will soon have his own “rock band”, let’s just hope that J doesn’t decide to buy himself a real set of drums. :-)
