Could It Be?
Yes, it’s actual yarn pr0n!!!
Presenting Scarlet Fleece Painted Merino, purchased at The Celtic Knot on a trip up there with my buddies Carrie, Maryanne, and Carol this week.
It is already on its way to becoming has already become a pair of crocheted armwarmers, inspired by Carrie’s Blinding Armwarmers. Hers are Fibonacci-inspired (science and all), but I went in a different direction. Since the name of this colorway is “Coffee and Raspberry Pie”, I opted for a pi theme.
So, the pattern is triple crochet, single crochet, quadruple crochet, single crochet.
Get it?

The first four digits of pi! 3.141…
And yes, I know I’m a big geek.
I’ve got a couple of FO’s to post about, too, but since Cristi will yell at me if I lump too much into one post, you have to wait for those.
Speaking of Cristi, didja see her on the Yarn Harlot’s blog? She’s, like, FAMOUS now!
Oh, and I have to link to this, just to make my buddy Steve laugh. He was venting at me on GChat last night about his issues with Comcast and DirecTV and trying to watch Flyers games (He’s a fan, obviously. Even wore orange accessories with his tux when he got married, from what I hear.). He wrote to The Consumerist, and he was all psyched, because they actually posted his letter, and it got some fairly supportive and sympathetic reactions. Other than the obligatory trolls, of course. It’s here, if you are interested.
For the record, Kris was not amused that I outed him on the ABBA thing the other night. Hee. I was in a little bit of trouble.
Happy weekend!
ETA: I meant to mention this – the color was a bit off in the second and third pictures. The first pic and the armwarmers are pretty close. I have to remember to stop taking pictures in my craft room, because the walls in there are orange, and I can never properly tweak the pictures for the right color.

Hehehehe Kris brought it on himself. =P
And please, no autographs. Where are my sunglasses?
And may I say, you should totally write up the pattern for those. And then teach me how to make a pair. =)

They look spectacular! Heehee. I wonder if this will become a trend. Based on Cristi’s request that you do up a pattern for yours, I think mayhaps I should follow through and write the pattern for the originals.

I love the Consumerist! I think I’m almost as addicted to it as I am Ravelry. It’s sad.

I didn’t even think those were the same skeins at first – the close-up looks like it has orange! Very nice!

love geeky knits!
I’m puzzled by the pr0n though… is there orange in there (middle pics) or not (first and FO pics)?
oh, I thought of you today… while shopping the vendors at our guild’s event, one of them does the polymer clay stuff and she had Oz themed ones
