Fitness-A-Long
So, I’ve been thinking about the comments you guys all left on Wednesday’s post. First of all, you have no idea how much those comments made the ache in my quads and abs a little less painful. Secondly, Betsy suggested something, and I think I like it. Who would be interested in a Fitness-A-Long? I’m thinking of something along these lines:
- You can be in it to lose weight or just to get healthier – your goals are your own call.
- IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH IT, I encourage you to consider posting your numbers. I won’t deny that it’s scary to hit that “Publish” button, but it’s also really damn freeing. And if you aren’t comfortable with it, I totally understand that. There will be no brow-beating or shaming anyone into posting.
- Post updates weekly – how you are doing, what you have learned, what you need to improve, what you doing well with, etc.
- Offer encouragement to others who need it.
- NO JUDGING. Actually, this should be the number one rule. Everyone has their own goals, for their own reasons. I don’t care if you want to lose 5 pounds or 75 pounds, or zero pounds – that’s your call and your goal, and you don’t have to justify or downplay or anything.
So, who’s in? If there is enough interest, I’ll make a button (unless someone is feeling creative) and put a page on here with the rules and links to the participants.
And now, I’m off to tackle that dvd again. As soon as the Aleve kicks in.
ETA: Wow! You guys are quick! Since I’ve already got five takers other than me, I’ve set up the info page here. Just let me get the button made and posted, and we’ll be good to go! Yay!

I’m in too. I need the kick in the pants!
When you say numbers, are you talking what we’re doing fitness-wise or weight/measurements or both? Just curious!

I’m in!!! Remember we did this last year, too? The Knitty Fit Club or something?
I’ve been working out, although a party at work this week and the food that’s been consumed at the party and in the days following has screwed up my metabolism. Yick.

I’m in – I joined (erm, re-joined) WW three weeks ago and I’ve lost 8 pounds so far. I haven’t told Andrew yet. I wonder how long it will take him to clue in?

Count me in… my numbers will be posted (AAAKKKKK!!!) after you bring that tape measure over here. (My blog readership may plummet after the numbers are out there, though!)
I’m actually looking forward to trying the scary-painful-DVD with you next week.

Alright, I’ve been going back and forth whether I want to take getting healthy serious, and well this seems like as good a time as any.

I’ll do it..if I can start Monday! And I’ll even try the scary painful DVD even though I have a gym membership I don’t use. But can I just post my numbers on your site!
I don’t think I can take the horror of it!

Yup, me too. I see the doctor about my foot Monday morning and I want to get walking at least 30 minutes a day. I’m so overweight from not taking care of myself that I need to made a change. Any change. So this is good. I can use the support.
Thanks for starting the group Trillian!
