How I Spent My Saturday Morning

So, we decided recently that we wanted to rip out our old deck and replace it with a concrete patio. There were a couple of reasons for this, partly that the deck is too small to really do anything, and the dogs like to burrow underneath it and then come in all muddy and gross. Today was demolition day.

If you click on cranky Meeko there, you can see the Flickr set, complete with captions (You must see me swing a sledgehammer…).  The concrete guys should be here this week at some point, so I’ll be updating with those pictures, too.

Oh, and it was about a thousand degrees out there this morning, too.  We plan so well…

I’m first! Where will Meeko hide now? I’m sure you won’t miss them getting stuck and full of mud.

Perhaps you missed your calling as a demo worker. :)

    mmmmm muddy pooches

Meeko and her super powers didn’t redo the patio? LOL

Nice job on the sexy sledgehammering – woot!

I think it was 1001 degrees.

Wow. You are my hero. Demolition in five-million degree heat/humidity? Definitely my hero.

You appear to swing the sledgehammer like a girl. I hope you weren’t wielding said hammer much. :)

I timed my call to help perfectly. :) I was very impressed to hear you had a hand in tearing $hit apart. Nasty day today too… no digging in the dirt for me today. I’ve been doing so much of that I’ve got actual man-hands again. Haven’t had those since those summers working construction. My lazy computer geek hands aren’t sure what to do at this point. Let us know when the next phase begins, I’ll be sure to come up with some excuse to miss that too. hehehe

Holy crap, “the heat!” is exactly what I thought of when I read the first sentence. I heard you guys are getting it worse than we are! UGH! I’m melting!

Yeah, probably not the best day – but by the haze in the first pics, it looks like you guys got an early start, which probably helped.

New porch? You didn’t mention that!! It’ll be great – and Meeko will soon learn how cool concrete can be to lie on. :)

    We have a new fence….by the way…..LOL…

Nothing says manly like a guy swinging a big…hammer.

Meeko sez, “a hooman’z porch iz a dog’z sooper-sekrit fort. U’d best sleep with 1 eye opin tonite!”

Kris is darned manly. If he’d worn a toolbelt, I’d have had impure thoughts…

Oh, wow. Can you come over here and help me fix up my house, pretty please? You’re so handy!
