Handspun Monday
Yes, that’s right – I’m actually POSTING handspun on a Monday. Clearly, this is one of the signs of the apocalypse, so brace yourselves accordingly.
I have the finished skein of the green handspun that I showed you last week.
I am completely in love with this stuff. It’s bordering on obsessive.
I love the colors Emma did on this. She’s amazing, and I am REALLY looking forward to Fiber Club (one spot left, last I looked. Don’t miss out!)
So, just to reiterate, this is DragonFibers BFL in Potluck 13 and 14. I ended up with 324 yards and 7.25 oz at around 12 WPI (depending on where I check it, of course)
And I certainly couldn’t leave Elphaba empty, now that we are friends again. You may remember this from a long past YPF:
Those are silk hankies dyed by AmyKnitty that I bought when she destashed them.
I’ve been spinning them up on Elphaba, and it’s going pretty well! It’s a bit thick and thin, but I like the texture that’s giving me. It’s going to take me FOREVER to get through all of this!
I’ll have to decide once I’m done spinning it up how I want to ply it. That will partly depend on how much I get and how many bobbins I fill.
And now for the part of my blog post where I ask you guys a favor. Do you read Rosi G’s blog? If not, you should. She’s a kick-ass knitter and designer, and I feel lucky to consider her a friend. Anyway, she entered a design in Little Knits’ Trenna Design Contest, and it’s one of the finalists. It’s gorgeous, and the voting is open as of today. Do me a favor and go take a look, will you? (The links to the entries are in the sidebar under “Recent Posts” – Rosi’s is the New York City stole. If you click on the name in the post, you will vote for it.) I’m not going to tell anyone who to vote for, but I think you can guess where my loyalties lie.

See, here you go blogging about the last spot in the club and made me go ahead and get it! I’ve been contemplating it since this morning when I finally caved and bought the wheel.
Oh yeah, I caved. It ships tomorrow.

I’m so proud. Not only did Daniel get Stephie thinking about a new wheel but now she is sucked into the world of Dragonfibers.
Don’t mind me while I grin evilly.

Ye-gads, what’s going on with you and Turtle with the handspun? You guys are practically whirling dervishes of the fiber world. Gotta love that green.

I love the green yarn. You did a wonderful job at spinning it and the silk looks so soft.

Oooh pretty! I love that you’re spinning again. =) Good for you for going for the hankies. I’m rather skeptical of the ones I have. So much so, I actually willingly felted most of them. I’ll have to dig that scarf out and photograph it.

I’m also here to covet the green yarn! Lovely job!
That silk is looking good too!
