Katydid Knits

In theory, it's all about the fiber – knitting, crocheting, sewing, and spinning – but really, it's all about my life.

Lack-of-Progress Wednesday

So, the socks? Exactly where they were last week.

The spinning? Ditto.

The reason?

My damn wrist is acting up. I had some repetitive stress/overuse issues with it a few years ago, and got some braces (for both wrists, actually). Generally, if either one starts to bother me, I can sleep with the braces on for a night or two, and I’ll be fine. This time, I forgot to put them on when I went to bed for a couple of nights, and now it’s really bugging me. So, I’ve been wearing the brace since the weekend, and have been resting it. No knitting, no crocheting, no spinning. *sigh*

In other news, we had a dumpster dropped off today for all of the debris from the deck demolition. I went over to my friend Morninglight Mama’s house for our regular workout date. Kris was home (two LOOOONG days coming up this week), so he started tackling the pile of crap, plus the nasty old falling-apart shed that we’ve been planning to get rid of for ages. When I got home, he had the dumpster half full, and only about half the shed left to go.

Crazy fool filled a 10-yard dumpster in three hours, by himself.

Of course, on the upside, this means that we have a backyard that I’m not ashamed to show people. :D This weekend, we tackle the plants along the fence. More pictures to come, I promise!

Lameness in the wrist department. But hey, throwing junkie sheds out is also repetitive motion. Couldn’t have helped much in that department anyway ;-)

On no! Not the wrist! I hope the rest is working for it. What a shame.

Way to go on the progress in the backyard though! Go Kris!

Ugh, hope it feels better soon. I have the exact same issue with my right thumb, and do the same thing to help with it.
