Katydid Knits

In theory, it's all about the fiber – knitting, crocheting, sewing, and spinning – but really, it's all about my life.

Well, ONE Way to Avoid Spam

Is just to not post for, what, almost a week? *facepalm* I just haven’t been feeling the blog urge lately. Steve and I were talking about it the other night – we’ve both noticed that most of the blogs we read have been on the quiet side. I’m chalking it up to summer.

I spotted this on Amanda’s blog today, though, and it amused me, so I decided to snag it. I’ve got a couple of things to photograph (a RAK and a kick-ass thank-you present), so I’m going to try to get them done today and posted tomorrow.

So, the Seven Deadly Sins meme:

WRATH
1. Who did you last get angry with?
- Probably Meeko, the amazing escape-artist dog.

2. What is your weapon of choice?
- Words. I’m too weak to cause physical harm, so I stick with sarcasm.

3. Would you hit a member of the opposite sex?
- Only jokingly – on the arm, or the occasional smack on the butt.

4. How about of the same sex?
- Ditto.

5. Who was the last person who got really angry at you?
- Kris. Realistically, the deeper the love, the deeper the anger when it happens.

6. What is your pet peeve?
- People who try to force their version of reality on others.

7. Do you keep grudges, or can you let them go easily?
- Yeah… I’m a grudge-holder. I’m much better than when I was younger, but it still happens. I’m actually worse holding a guilt-grudge against myself. I still feel stupid for things I did when I was in high school.

SLOTH
1. What is one thing you’re supposed to do daily that you don’t?
- Oh, so many. Taking vitamins… eating well…

2. What is the latest you’ve ever woken up?
- I think back in high school, it was probably in the post-noon range over the summer. Since then, though, not usually later than 10-ish.

4. What is the last lame excuse you made?
- I forgot to go to knitting last week because I forgot what day it was. I actually DID forget what day it was, but it’s still pretty lame.

5. Have you ever watched an infomercial all the way through?
- Sadly, yes.

6. When was the last time you got in a good workout?
- About three weeks ago, before Dawn’s and my schedules got all goofy. We’re back on for tomorrow, though!

7. How many times did you hit the snooze button on your alarm clock today?
- Hmm… 3? I think?

GLUTTONY
1. What is your overpriced yuppie beverage of choice?
- Starbucks Venti Soy Caramel Macchiato. So good, so overblown, so overpriced, and so many adjectives.

2. Meat eaters: white meat or dark meat??
- White. Dark meat always feels slimy to me. Ick.

3. What is the greatest amount of alcohol you’ve had in one sitting/outing/event?
- Heh. You DO recall me talking about EdFest, right? I have no clue what the actual amount would be.

4. Have you ever used a professional diet company?
- I assume Weight Watchers counts, so yes.

5. Do you have an issue with your weight?
- Yes. *sigh*

6. Do you prefer sweets, salty foods, or spicy?
- Salty. I can kill a can of Pringles in about 10 seconds.

7. Have you ever looked at a small house pet or child and thought “lunch”?
- No. That’s just weird.

LUST
1. How many people have you seen naked (not counting movies/family)?
- See above re: EdFest.

2. How many people have seen YOU naked (not counting physicians/family)?
- Off the hook on EdFest for this one, but I’m not sure of an exact count. Theatre dressing rooms, you know.

3. Have you ever caught yourself staring at the chest/crotch of a member of the opposite gender during a normal conversation?
- Yup.

4. Have you ever kissed two people in one night?
- Yup.

5. What is your favorite body part on a person of your gender of choice?
- Eyes and hands. I’ve always loved great hands on a guy.

6. Have you ever been propositioned by a prostitute?
- No. At least, if I was, I wasn’t aware of it. :)

GREED
1. How many credit cards do you own?
- 4

2. What’s your guilty pleasure store?
- Sephora (which should surprise none of you after the lipgloss post)

3. Would you rather be rich, or famous?
- Probably famous. I never wanted to be a movie star, but I did want to be a theatre actress. :)

4. Would you accept a boring job if it meant you would make megabucks?
- Very possibly, although it would probably depend on just HOW boring. If it was deadly dull but I could knit or crochet at work, hell yeah.

5. Have you ever stolen anything?
- When I was little (like, 2) I grabbed a can of tuna and a lipstick on different occasions and got them wrapped up in my blanket. Once I was old enough to know better (junior high), I did steal a bookmark from a store once.

6. How many MP3s are on your hard drive?
- According to iTunes, 9,065.

PRIDE
1. What’s one thing you have done that you’re most proud of?
- I’ve learned to cook to the point where I don’t feel there is any recipe I can’t tackle successfully.

2. What one thing have you done that your parents are most proud of?
- I think my folks are pretty happy that I am an independent adult in a happy marriage and a life that I enjoy.

3. What things would you like to accomplish in your life?
- I’d like to get my house more organized, and make a real attempt to clear out some clutter.

4. Do you get annoyed by coming in second place?
- Meh. Not really.

5. Have you ever entered a contest of skill, knowing you were of much higher skill than all the other competitors?
- No.

6. Have you ever cheated on something to get a higher score?
- I remember cheating on a couple of biology quizzes back in high school. I was really not good at bio.

7. What did you do today that you’re proud of?
- Erm… pretty much nothing. Of course, it’s only 1pm.

ENVY
1. What item (or person) of your friends would you most want to have for your own?
- I totally adore Amanda’s car. We’re probably going to replace mine in another year-ish, and I may have to get myself a Mini.

2. Who would you want to go on “Trading Spaces” with?
- Hyon & Drew. I totally trust her not to let them screw up my house. :D

3. If you could be anyone else in the world, who would you be?
- Hugh Jackman’s wife. Kidding! Seriously, though, maybe Sutton Foster or Marissa Jaret Winokur. Both gorgeous, talented women who have done well on Broadway.

4. Have you ever been cheated on?
- Yes.

5. Have you ever wished you had a physical feature different from your own?
- Of course. And I think anyone who says differently is lying. I’d love to have a smaller waist, for one, and that’s not even a weight thing. Even when I was uber-skinny, I never had much of a waist.

6. What inborn trait do you see in others that you wish you had for yourself?
- Self-confidence. I’ve gotten better about it, but I have to work at it. And it’s still mostly a facade.
