In theory, it's all about the fiber – knitting, crocheting, sewing, and spinning – but really, it's all about my life.

And for the latest entry in the “WTF Files”

So, you may remember a while back, when it rained so hard that a frog was stuck on my kitchen window? Welcome to the latest random wildlife sighting in my world.

Tonight is trash night, so I went out the side door to grab the can and drag it to the curb. Before I stepped out, I saw this:

HPIM0364

Huh. Don’t remember seeing anything there earlier when I took the kitchen trash out. What is that? Let’s look closer.

HPIM0365

Holy crap. It’s a freaking CRAYFISH. On my SIDEWALK. Near exactly ZERO bodies of water. (And yes, it’s dead) I’m assuming the neighborhood marauder (AKA the stupid cat who belongs to the people across the street but likes to torment my cats through the window and by peeing near my front door) left it there, but seriously. What the hell?

My life is clearly too random for words.

Hm, it’s either a sign of the apocolpyse or that you need to enjoy a good gumbo. Take your pick ;-)

well, I’m glad you knew what it was, cuz I was sure clueless!

my dad and sister used to catch them (in the river or wherever it is they live), so I’ve never seen one dry.

definitely creepy looking out of the water.

Ok, the crawdad made me chuckle, but the lip gloss collection made me laugh. That’s some serious shit, honey. Congrats on renewing your vows!

Isn’t Bowie kinda swampy? Maybe? Maybe I’m just channelling Williamsburg. At any rate, that’s really freakin’ bizzare.

Cats drop off food for those they don’t feel can hunt adequately for themselves. It’s his/her way of making sure your cats are getting enough food.

People eat those things? My first thought was that it was a locust, second thought was “Well I’m NEVER going to visit her now!”
